Are You Thinking About Waxing But Having Reservations About Clicking That “Book Now” Button? Allow Us To Target The Most Common Waxing Myths That May Be Holding You Back And BUST Them!

MYTH: WAXING WILL MAKE MY HAIR COME BACK DARKER OR THICKER.

Truth: Waxing actually does the opposite of that! When removing the hair by the follicle with waxing, your body then has to produce an entirely new hair follicle. This results in hairs that are thinner in texture when they grow back because the hair has a brand new baby follicle that is smaller in size. The hair will become more mature and thicker over time as blood continues to nourish the hair. Your hair color does not typically change unless it has been bleached by the sun or bleach. 

MYTH: I LIKE TO TWEEZE IN BETWEEN MY SERVICES, IT IS LESS MAINTENANCE. 

Truth: We recommend waxing your brows every 2-4 weeks. Tweezing in between waxing appointments disrupts your hair growth cycle. Our hair grows in 3 cycles. Anagen, catogen, and telogen, then cycles back to anagen. When you tweeze in between your appointments, your hairs will never all align on the same cycle. Our goal is to remove the hair all at one time so it can grow back at one time. This leaves you with longer periods of being smooth.

MYTH: I LIKE TO GET BRAZILIANS EVERY 2-3 WEEKS SO I CAN STAY HAIR-FREE.

Truth: Waiting for at least four to six weeks between brazilians allows your hairs to fully go through their growth cycle. This also ensures all the hairs are above the surface. Waxing too soon can result in irritation and mediocre results. If you don’t allow all the hairs to come through the skin’s surface then wait long enough to wax, you will never truly experience being totally smooth. PS: It’s worth the wait!

MYTH: I DON’T WANT TO WAX MY NOSE, YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE HAIR THERE! I DON’T WANT TO GET SICK.

Truth: There are two types of nose hair. Terminal hairs (cosmetic hairs) are located around the inside edge of your nostril. These hairs are dense in texture and in this day and time, serve essentially no purpose. 

Then there are cilia hairs. These can only be seen using a microscope and are located farther back in the nose (under the bridge of the nose). Cilia project from the epithelial tissue that lines the inner nasal cavity. These tiny hairs flow back and forth and help trap invading pathogens (ie: germs). By using a sensitive wax (hard wax), we only wax the terminal cosmetic hairs right around the outside of your nose. This leaves you hair-free, healthy, and breathing better immediately!

MYTH: BRAZILIANS ARE TOO PAINFUL! ANYONE WHO DOES IT IS CRAZY! 

Truth: Your first brazilian is the most painful, after that it’s a breeze. The reason being is that when your hair has never been removed by the follicle, blood continues to nourish the hair making the follicle continue to grow larger. When we remove this follicle, it is painful simply because of the size of the “root”. I like to explain it using an onion as a comparison. When you grow an onion in the ground, the longer it’s been growing, the larger it is in size. When you plant an onion and remove it from the ground sooner, the onion is smaller. 

Getting regular brazilians yields better results and a much less painful experience. Our technicians are highly trained and educated. MYTH: GETTING A BRAZILIAN IS EMBARRASSING. I COULD NEVER DO THAT.

Truth: We go above and beyond to make not only your first brazilian, but every one of your brazilians the most comfortable. We start by introducing ourselves and walking you back to your private treatment room. Note: No one in the lobby will know what you are there for. We keep all services discreet in the lobby so if you see your child’s soccer coach, you don’t have to worry, she will never know what service you are receiving. 

Once we walk you into the room and close the door, we will then ask you a few questions and give you some instructions to get started. We tell you where to lay, what to take off, where to place your belongings and provide you with optional wipes and disposable panties. We then step out of the room to let you change in private. After a few moments, we always knock before we come back in. 

The disposable panties are loved by all. First of all, they are so chic...okay not really but they serve a great purpose! And don’t worry, they are super stretchy so they fit all body types! Most people love to wear these for their first brazilain to help them feel more covered and comfortable. Each technician is trained to wax around the panties so you feel comfortable throughout your service. 

Your technician will also explain the process before and during your service to be sure you understand everything that is happening. During your service, we will also give you aftercare tips and educate you on which products will help give you your best results.
